1.    What has been your proudest career moment?

From teenager to now, I’ve taken pride in all my jobs. I always wanted things to be the absolute best they could be and would always do what it takes. Undoubtedly, creating a successful entertainment PR company is a huge achievement, and something I am immensely proud of. But honestly, I feel as much pride doing this as I did making the fruit look beautiful at my summer job in a greengrocers. Pride is a feeling and I think it’s this pride that helps me succeed.

2.    Who has been/is your biggest mentor?

I’ve been truly fortunate to have so many mentors, from great female bosses at Radio 1 through to the brilliant Bev James.
My twin sister, Bethan, has of course always been by my side, we literally shared a womb together. I sense check everything with her, she’s always compassionately honest and makes me believe I can do anything. And she tells me to get a grip when I need to hear it.

3.    What’s the most valuable piece of advice you have ever received?

Surround yourself with brilliant people. It’s so true! My team are awesome; they’re better than me in many aspects and really fun, brilliant people.

4.    Which training body would you recommend for someone wanting to enter your area of the industry?

You don’t need qualifications for this. You need to love entertainment and audiences, be smart, fast, creative, curious, strategic, persuasive, and honest. I did an advanced media law diploma a few years back and have found that really helpful.

5.    How do you make sure you stand out from the crowd e.g. up-skilling, research, social media?

Standing out from the crowd isn’t that hard if you’re always yourself. I’m naturally a person who asks questions - I am curious - I like to know what makes peoples tick, and what emotions are driving them. Knowing this gives me a head start on how to tell stories and make people fall in love with others.

6.    If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting their own business, what would it be?

Do what you think is best. Everyone will tell you what to do, but they’re not doing it, you are! When you need advice, listen to someone you truly trust and who has the experience, but ultimately you have to make the call. This is your baby, no one else’s. If you do what others say you should do, you’re probably not being innovative.

7.    What’s the best and hardest thing about your job?

The best and hardest is the same: that every day is completely different and can change dramatically at any point. I love that about it. That I have to stay fast, agile and think quickly and succinctly. That rush of adrenaline is what I thrive off. But it can be challenging when you’re knee deep in something else.

8.    How do you switch off after a difficult day?

I go home and surround myself with people who I love and who love me. I talk about it, or I do things totally unconnected to work like gardening.

9.    Desert island 3 course meal?

A 80’s prawn cocktail; small prawns in a lettuce lined seashell.

A Thali; with all the curries, breads, rice, raita and papadums.

That chocolate sponge and chocolate custard you used to get at school.

10.  Which 5 people (dead or alive) would you have at your dinner party?

Charles Darwin

Princess Margaret

Marilyn Monroe

Beyoncé

Jason Donovan
